Senior Collection - Encapsulate
For my senior collection, I designed and created a capsule wardobe line inspired by the colors produced in natural textile dyeing. I designed the looks, created patterns for each piece, constructed the collection, and maintained creative control over its live and editorial presentation. This line is intended for the Millennial market and made to align with values of sustainability and responsible consumption.
Encapsulate was featured in Omaha Fashion Week in August of 2021.

Garments designed and flats created by Erin Kelly, Spring 2021
I worked with a group of four other students to forecast macro and micro trends and develop three lines for a sustainable children's clothing line for the year 2030. My responsibilities within this project were to research trends, develop three cohesive, on-brand prints, design one of the three lines, and compile all of our research and process into a 24-page written report. We decided to fulfill the promise of the name Lark Adventurewear and create clothing that kids can adventure, play, and get dirty in, all while remaining sustainable through innovative textile use.
We were assigned the task of designing three lines for the sustainable children's brand Lark Adventurewear to produce in 2030, so we forecasted macro and micro trends that would affect textile development, clothing style and use, and parenting practices in the next decade. I collaborated with the other student designers as three of us each designed separate lines that would appear cohesive and appear together seamlessly under the same brand.
One of the micro trends we identified was eco-printing, the practice of directly transferring designs onto fabrics using plants. This practice is depicted in the flats above, which I created. Pictured below are children's yoga wear flats featuring three digital patterns I created to complement the Lark Adventurewear brand in 2030.

Mary Mitchell Fashion Excellence Award
I was awarded Undergraduate Student Second Place, a Mary Mitchell Fashion Excellence Award as a part of the 2021 Juried Fashion Student Showcase in the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery. The exhibition was shown from March 8th - April 9th, 2021. I received the award for a garment I completed as part of my coursework for a Draping class, in which we learned and practiced the techniques of hard and soft drape. I dyed the fabric with black beans to create a cloudy, light blue design on the fabric. I used hard draping techniques to create voluminous shapes throughout the garment, most notably at the shoulder and in the skirt.

Omaha fashion week 2020
I had the opportunity to show my work at Omaha Fashion Week in February 2020.
The two looks I showed were created as projects in Flat Pattern and Experimental Design classes I took at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
